So it’s been a while since I update my blog! About three years or so! I was inspired this weekend to start up my blog and update my website! I’ve been busy and have lots of new adventures to update my blog on!
The first thing I have to get done is to update my website. It is OUT-DATED!!! Once I get the website updated, I’ll be updating the blog regularly. I’m excited to get back to my roots!! Stay tuned!!

Luis and I went to go see Haram Iran @ the Celebration Theatre in West Hollywood last night. Before we hit the play we stopped at my favorite chicken shack Koo Koo Roo. I got my favorite the chicken caesar wrap but for some reason it was a deconstructed caesar wrap. It was still good though! We ate too fast because our play was about to start. But we did get to the Celebration Theatre in time.
When we got to the the play it looked like no one was there. We picked up our tickets/playbill and then headed to Starbucks for some double espresso goodness since we had 20 minutes. By the time we got back the place had filled up! Luis didn’t like the play too much because there wasn’t enough nudity. And while I agree, I kind of did like it. I thought the two main actors did a great job. And I have soft spot for Persian men. They are one of my favorites! I do agree with Luis though that the first act was definitely better than the second. The ending of the play is kind of a downer. And I thought the trial portion of the play really showed how frustrating limited the justice system is in Iran.
It was a great night out! I was supposed to go with Rafael to HotRod @ Mickys, but he wasn’t feeling up to it so we just stayed home. That and I forgot to pay rent!! UH OH!

We had such a crazy/fun Friday night. We were given some super special brownies to enjoy our friday night with. THANK YOU KEVEN! Mix that in with some alcohol, friends and a visit to Eleven and Mickys and you have the gallery below! The picture at MJ’s was taken Tuesday night but I find it fits in well here Fridays at Eleven is so much fun! We went because my favorite bartender from the Eagle, Justin told us he bartended at Eleven on fridays. Rafael hated it, but I loved it! And the music was awesome too!
Check out the pics below:

Tuesday night Rafael got some comp tickets to check out the opening night of RiverDance at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. I have to admit I wasn’t that enthusiastic when I first heard about it, but since it was going to be a fun group going and it was free, we were all in! I actually really enjoyed the show. They broke up the tap dancing with some Flamenco dancing, and they also had some performers from the Russian Ballet who were amazing! They also had some jazz tap dancers which were fun! I had a great time.
The funniest part of the whole evening was that during intermission I was on Grindr, the best app for the iPhone to hook up with guys, and one of the dancers in the performance was on it! How crazy is that? Technology has really changed the way we interact in the world. After the show I really wanted to go out so the whole gang decided to meet up at MJ’s. Tuesday night is a big night at MJ’s it’s called RimJob. And it never disappoints!
I forgot how much fun MJ’s was. Ever since the new Mickys opened, we haven’t gone back to MJ’s! We had so much fun. They have like 10-15 super hot strippers. They have a hot guy in a jacuzzi giving body shots, and the music is an amazing blend of dance, rock, and electro pop! It was awesome but i lost my there. It was also a nice surprise to see my favorite bartender from the Eagle, Justin was bartending Tuesday nights @ RimJob! He’s a cutie!
I think RimJob is our new Tuesday night!

New Year’s Eve got here faster than I thought! At the last minute Rafael wanted to have a get together. We didn’t know exactly what we were going to do so he just decided to have a party at our house. Surprisingly everyone showed up! Jim, Joe, Mariano ( he was late), Duy, Vincent, Vincent’s friend, Phil, Rico, Rafael, and I said goodbye to 2009 and brought in 2010. We had the music pumping, the porn playing on the TV, and there was tons of alcohol and food! Joe made his famous chicken enchiladas and Rafael made Picadillo which was a huge hit!
Once we toasted to the new year, everyone headed down to Micky’s. I was exhausted, so I just stayed home. Which was a good thing because if I had drank more I would have puked! I took it easy for the rest of the long weekend. I played more of Muramasa: the Demon Blade. The weather also really picked up. We had sunshine all weekend long and it was in the 70’s. There is no place like California!! I took advantage of it and Lola and I hiked all over West Hollywood. I can’t wait for Summer!
I had Coco Channel from NetFlix, so I decided to watch it. It was pretty long and not as good as I thought it was going to be. Don’t get me wrong, I thought it was interesting, but it was not as captivating as I thought it was going to be. There were some parts that really dragged on for me. It was interesting to know though that she started designing hats. I also really liked how she chose the name for the perfume Chanel Number 5.
I also had Terminator Salvation on my TiVo. Amazon Video On Demand had given me some free credits so I downloaded Harry Potter and Terminator. I thought I was going to love it because I love anything Christian Bale does, and I love him, but the movie was really bad and boring. The only stand out was the Human/Terminator guy who is super hot. His name is: Marcus Wright. He was super hot and should have had more nude scenes It would have made the movie more “interesting”.
Saturday Mariano wanted to go to the Grove to see Avatar. This is the second time we set out to see it, and it was sold out so we couldn’t see it. We had some dinner at the Farmer’s Market, although I really wanted the Brazilian place, Pampas, the line was so long I didn’t want to wait! So I had pizza and Mariano had sushi. I also took advantage and went to the Apple store to replace my headphones for the iPhone. The button always breaks because I sweat all over it on the gym! I went in they fit me in to an appointment and 30 minutes later I walked out with a new pair of headphones! It was great!
So we didn’t get to see Avatar so we settled on It’s Complicated. It was amazing! I didn’t think it was going to be as funny as it was! Alec Baldwin stole the funniest moments of the movie! It was hilarious. Mariano and I were laughing out loud many times! I’m glad that we got to see it! Now all I have to do is see Avatar hopefully before it leaves theatres!
When I got home Rafael wanted to go out. Mariano left because he was being anti-social. Duy and his friend met us at our place where we had pre-drinks and then we headed down to Mickys. We had so much fun! I don’t feel like going out much, but when I do I really enjoy it. I was feeling great, and we had so much fun. And I was super drunk. I finally introduced myself to my favorite bartender ever from Mickys. He told me his name and I told him mine, but the music was so fucking loud I didn’t hear his name! He did say it was a good way to start the new year by knowing each other’s name He is so hot! I heart you favorite Micky’s bartender! And he goes to my gym too which makes me loose focus whenever I see him! SO HOT!
I also saw a hottie I’ve been meaning to hook up with for a while on Grinder and Manhunt. He was looking super good! So now I know we’ll be hooking up in the future At least we better! Rafael ended up taking me home after a while because I was so fucking drunk! I was being very friendly and talking to random people. I have no idea how I made it back home up our hill. But I did! And just in time to puke my guts out! But it was a happy puke!
Sunday I just relaxed, got over my mild hangover, and went to the gym. It was a very good New Year’s Eve weekend! Very relaxing and fun! I’m ready for the new Year….

Usually I spend the holidays in Miami with the family. This year it was too expensive and I was too broke! So I spent it in LA. At first I was a little depressed about it, because I miss my family and Miami, but in the end it turned out to be a really nice Christmas. And I didn’t overeat, so that’s a plus! Whatever free time I had during the long weekend I spent playing Muramasa: the Demon Blade. At first I didn’t like the game too much, but now I’m totally hooked. It’s a hard game, and when you win a battle you definitely feel a sense of accomplishment!
So of course I didn’t spend the whole Christmas weekend playing games. Christmas Eve Mariano wanted to hang out with Rafael and I. Rafael was invited over to a friend’s house for pre-drinks before we set out to Mickys. The friends turned out to live in Mediterranean Village. I thought about moving there when I first moved to West Hollywood because they are run by the same management company that I had in Fort Lauderdale, Archstone Smith. But it was too expensive and I had had a previously bad experience with Archstone Smith. They’re all about money and not about customer service. At least that’s how they were in Florida!
The place was very cute though and Rafael’s friends were very nice. We had like three martini’s there. And I was already drunk from all the wine that we had at our place before! We left to go to Mickys about 45 minutes later. We had a lot of fun at Mickys! My favorite bartender was there, the one that I have a crush on. He goes to my gym but I never say hello. Retarded I know! In the crowd there was a guy wearing a cuban t-shirt. We went up to him to say hi and it turned out he was in fact cuban! There’s been a lot of cuban sightings lately in the LA area We danced and drank some more and then Mariano and I headed over to Pizza Rustica to sober up. I was totally fucked up!
Christmas day I woke up with one crazy hang over. But Rafael and I went to Pavilions to get some food for our get together at Mariano’s house. We settled on Lasagna and garlic bread. We met up with Jim who was already there at Mariano’s house. Mariano’s house in Thousand Oaks was so cute! It was a beautiful neighborhood. My favorite spot in the house was the back yard. It had a beautiful saltwater pool and jacuzzi. But the view was towards these hills and canyons. It was breathtaking! We spent most of the time soaking up in the warm pool! It was nice!!! Dinner was ready and we had a feast! We rented Julie & Julia on PayPerView and settled down to watch it. Jim and I really liked it, Mariano and Rafael hated it. HATED IT! I thought it was a super cute movie and Mery Streep did an amazing Julia Child! AMAZING! Amy Adams was really good too. But I generally like everything that she does! After the movie we all headed home.
Saturday Rafael and I took it slow. I received a five dollar coupon from Amazon Video on Demand so we downloaded Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for free. I’m glad it was free! Rafael and I didn’t like it. It really seemed to lag on and on. It only got interesting in the last 15 minutes. I also hated how dark it was. You can barely see parts of the movie. Things like that really frustrate me. I get the whole artistic angle, but it was way too dark to see anything. I think there are better ways of doing it! Needless to say we hated it!!! HATED IT! Saturday night we were going to see Avatar with Mariano. But of course he ditched us and didn’t even call me. He was going to go out and take Rafael with him, and he didn’t even call Rafael back. Ghetto. But that’s Mariano for you!
Sunday was my do all my errands day! I took Lola to the groomers. I went to Best Buy to get a new router, I got my car washed, and I got some groceries to do laundry. I felt such a sense of accomplishment when I did all the things on my to-do-list. It felt great. I’m so glad I bought a new router. My old one was acting up. The new one is really efficient and makes my wireless network super fast! Rafael’s laptop and my Wii were dropping the weireless signal before, and now it’s perfect!! I was really happy when I finished reworking all my wireless peripherals.
To wind down from a busy sunday, and to do something while my laundry was going, Rafael and I decided to watch Make the Yuletide Gay on NetFlix Streaming on TiVo. Since I had installed my new router, the movie was streaming in HD across the internet. It was amazing! The movie itself was pretty bad. It was super gay bad actually. The acting was aweful. The script was horrendous. There were so many tired double entendres, and I thought it was pretty bad stereotyping of people from the MidWest. It was just horrible. But hey at least I got to try out NetFlix Streaming with my new super fast router!!! Yeh!
What a great weekend! It has definitely put me in a very good mood!

I was dying to go see Lady Gaga and the day was finally here. We had tickets to go see her at the Nokia Theatre in the new L.A. Live area of downtown. It was my first time in the L.A. Live area of downtown and it was amazing! It was a small city in there! They had the Grammy Museum, which I’m dying to go see, and tons of restaurants and things to do. And of course it has the Nokia Theatre. The Theatre was great!
It was so modern. We were super excited to see the Gaga. As expected all the fans were either gay boys or tween girls. We got along great! They had some Lady Gaga earphones called HeartBeats which they were trying to peddle, even though they were overpriced, they were kind of cool looking! We hadn’t had dinner yet so we picked up some beer and some hot dogs. We are so glamorous! I know.
We were looking at the Merch counter and Rafael absolutely had to buy the Lady Gaga bedazzled mask. You’ll see pictures below! It was too tight for his face! It wouldn’t even go over my big head We finally made our way into the theatre. It was a cool space. Not too big, not too small. Just right! The opening act was Semi Precious Weapons. They were cute and super gay, but it was too heavy rock/punk for me to get into. It was a last minute change up since Kid Cudi was supposed to open, but he punched one his his fans in the face, so he was banned from the tour and was performing later at Club Nokia across the street!
The concert finally started and we were excited. I have to say I did enjoy the concert. But it wasn’t what I was expecting. I was expecting over-the-top Lady Gage. Kind of what she did at the VMA’s. But instead it was muted. Not muted in an artistically edited kind of way, muted in a we have to put this concert together last minute to make some money. At least that’s what it felt like for me. Lady Gaga to me is over the top. I love her for it. Her concert did not reflect this. There were many times where I noticed she wasn’t singing live. Usually I don’t care about this, but I know she can sing. So I didn’t get it.
Also she didn’t perform Telephone! One of my favorite songs and it just didn’t happen. It was very frustrating. I’m not loosing hope in her though. I think after a couple of albums she’ll have a killer tour soon. I know it! No one is making music like she is right now! No one!!!
Enjoy some of the pictures I took at the concert below. See the full album on Facebook:

Last night I wanted to go to Best Buy to get my dad a gift certificate for Christmas and buy the new Zelda game! I told Rafael we should go after work and that’s what we did. We headed over to the West Hollywood Gateway which has the local Best Buy and our favorite Greek fast food place, Daphne’s Greek Cafe. I had not been to Daphne’s in so long, ever since we moved our work offices from North Hollywood to Sun Valley. I love love love their Spicy Chicken Salad. It was super good!!!
Once we stuffed our faces and had some espresso at Starbucks, we headed over to Best Buy. I have to pre-plan what I’m going to buy at Best Buy, otherwise I would have left with a new PS3. Yes I still don’t have one! And I’m holding out! I think I like the torture. At Best Buy I picked up the new The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks game for the DS and Muramasa: the Demon Blade for the Wii.
As soon as I got home I put in the Muramasa game. It was so beautiful! The graphics were so impressive, and the sound was great! All the voice acting was in Japanese which added to the fact that I didn’t know what the fuck was going on. But it was pretty to look at. The game played pretty fun too! It looks like a long and involved game. So it will keep me busy for a while! Unlike Dead Space Extraction, which was awesome but super super short! SUPER SHORT!
Before going to bed I had to play a bit of the Zelda Spirit Tracks. I loved the one they made before this one on the DS, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass. It was one of the best DS games I’ve ever played. This one uses the same engine, so I liked it from the beginning! The whole evil train thing is kind of cheezy, but I’m going with it! I’m sure all my bathroom breaks at work now are going to be real long…
After Best Buy Rafael wanted to buy a nice shirt for his job’s Christmas party so we headed to our favorite used clothing store: CrossRoads Trading Co. It’s funny because I was never into used clothing before. Then we went in once a couple of months ago and I tried on two jeans that fit me perfectly! This is a very tough feat because when I find jeans that fit me in the waist, they are usually way too long! Lucky for me there is someone with great taste who sells back a lot of his jeans and clothes to CrossRoads. Since then I’ve been hooked!
I came across this super cool grey and green jacket that I insantly fell in love with! I’ll have to take some picutures of it. It was $30.00!!! Even though I was broke, I had to pick it up. The sleeves come off, it looks super cute, and it had a hoodie. Perfect for our crazy weather here in California in the Winter/Spring. Rafael was pissed because he wanted it, but I got to it first!!! I’m sure he’ll be “borrowing” it quite a bit. I found this amazing leather jacket for him, but he didn’t like it. If I could have fit into it I would have bought it!!! At the checkout line there was a crazy Trans girl who looked like she was fucked up on something hot mess of a drug. She was listening to her CD player and at the same time using a lighter to fuse the exposed electrical wiring of one of the ear buds. HOT MESS!!! Rafael was scared of her, but I thought it was thouroughly entertaining, especially when they tried to kick her out and she screamed, “I’m getting my manager!!!!” Priceless!!
What an exciting night huh!

This weekend I saw the cutest movie with Rafael on NetFlix Streaming. It was called Viva Cuba. The movie took place in Cuba and centered around two children who are friends. The main character realizes her mom wants to leave Cuba with her new foreign husband. When she finds out about this she takes her friend on a crazy adventure across Cuba to find her dad and ask him to not sign the papers to allow her to leave the country.
The story was so endearing! The acting was amazing, and it made me miss Miami so much! Even though I live in Los Angeles and there are tons of latins around, there is something very distinct about Cubans! This movie captures this beauitfully! You really fall in love with the two friends as they set out on their adventure.
The whole time I was watching the movie I was realizing how far I really am from my family and friends in Miami. I know one day I’ll move back, but when exactly will that be? I love living in Los Angeles and it has been very good to me, especially since my field of work really lends itself to the technology focused state of California. But I do miss Miami. I don’t miss the weather, but I miss my family, friends, and the people of Miami.
I have this loose plan that when I turn 35 I’ll start actively searching for a job in the South Florida area. We’ll see how far I get with these plans! Life always brings things that prevents you from making any long term planning especially when buying victorinox swiss army knife! So we’ll see! Until then I’ll just have to visit Miami a lot! You will find detailed information and a buying guide on portable generators My goal this coming year is to make three trips. One trip I’m making in March. I definitely want to be there for Thanksgiving. And I also want to visit sometime in the Summer!
